I’m doing a cross post with this – it’s on both my Autism/Vaccines blog and my political blog for reasons that will be obvious.
I’ve known since July that Donald Trump believes the rubbish that vaccines cause Autism. I’m not going to bother repeating the reasons it’s false, either the official bunking or my own. Anyone with a brain knows it’s rubbish.
But in the most recent Republican round table in the lead up to the 2016 Presidential Election, Trump did it again. And what was worse, the most qualified person to bunk him on the debating platform didn’t do it – Ben Carson. All he did was muck around and play the diplomat precisely when he had the chance to smash Trump to smithereens. That says to me that the candidates at this round table were afraid of Trump – and that’s a bad thing. As a side note for the Autism blog only – Carson is also a climate change sceptic.
The biggest problem that arises out of this is that Trump is popular. Popularity can sway the primaries in the lead up to the decision as to who runs for President on behalf of the Republicans. He has to be jumped on when every chance arises. He can not be allowed the chance to gain the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because if he gets there, if you are Autistic you are going to be locked up in places like the Judge Rotenburg Centre and “cured” – or I should say killed. It will mean that the United Nations should label that a refugee situation, and every American Autistic needs to get out of the country. Even those who support a cure because they would be in just as much danger. I may hate the likes of Oliver Canby and Jonathan Mitchell, but I will NOT advocate death for them.
There are some who say that any publicity is good publicity. Trump’s antics may also give the anti vaxxers the courage to come out and voice their support. I haven’t checked but I’ll bet that those who oppose SB277 in California will be all over this and telling the Governor Jerry Brown on these grounds to reverse the acceptance of the law. He won’t. Aside from the fact that he’s a Democrat, he knows the truth.
This publicity needs to come back and bite Trump where it hurts. He is hurting Autistics by lying about the condition’s origins. He is hurting politics by gaining popularity for all the wrong reasons. Trump is definitely NOT coming up trumps here! He should fold before he runs out of money. If the Republicans are truly serious about winning the Presidential office they need to get rid of Trump. He is dangerous, a worse liar that most politicians I have ever seen, and a threat to the entire Autistic community as well as children who need to be vaccinated. Not a single child has been made Autistic by vaccines. Not one has ever been proven. Trump’s story about a two year old becoming Autistic a week after a vaccine jab is at best misrepresented and at worst completely made up.
He should be challenged on it – and from within his own party. And as soon as possible as Trump needs to be forced to be quiet. First Amendment or no First Amendment.
